Brobot. An Employees’ Chatbot
It was 3am in the morning. I received a text from my colleague asking if it’s ok for him to rest at home for the day without seeing a doctor as he was having a bad headache but not that serious to get medication (since his home clinic is always packed with patients on a Monday morning). Yes it’s 3am, and I know that message is meant for me the first thing when I wake up. Apparently, he has missed out on the announcement and our “Did you know” video series of our newly implemented honored medical leave, a leave which permits employees to take medical leave without the need to produce a medical certificate.
It then dawn on me that queries on HR policy may happen anytime and employees having that burning question then would definitely hope to have it answered instantly. And this becomes a pain point. Also, imagine employees not being able to immediately access our digital handbook when they are outside the office requires them to dial in remotely to check on our HR policy. This is not a good employee experience.
In this instance, how to make employee experience great is to offer a 24x7 online answering service on all HR matters to the employees. That day became our Day One in our HR Chatbot development journey.
