How Startups traverse across the Adaptive Zone
In my previous article on “Traversing the Adaptive Zone” (https://medium.com/@chengkhengchic/a-model-to-improve-adaptability-by-traversing-the-adaptive-zone-c13c1c229553), I’ve written how people should achieve the equilibrium prior to being able to concentrate in exploring the adaptive zone for confrontation to change and proactively transform.
The same applies to Startups when they have made a successful discovery in creating an awesome product that serve the needs of a group of early adopters. Upon “crossing the chasm” and reaching out to the mass market, startups would wish to replicate this success and produce their product(s) in a more seamless and efficient way, serving the needs of their consumers at all times, eventually. This is where equilibrium is achieved. This is when structured processes, standards and the people have been stabilized.
For the startups, beginning from the adaptive zone, they are constantly searching for the right product to sell, proactively performing their environmental scanning for the purpose of not just knowing the context(s) they’re in, but also what potential solutions catered to the needs of their prospective consumers. Confronting their current situation and achieving growth in terms of new knowledge, skills, and solutions becomes their priority. Most importantly, they can choose which path to take…
